AMV One-On-One – AMV Netherlands
Have you ever wanted to create your very own AMV?
AMV Netherlands is hosting two One-On-One sessions at Abunai! 2019. The One-On-One is a two hour editing session where you get to edit your own short AMV under the guidance of an experienced AMV editor of your choice!
You will be introduced to either Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere or Adobe After Effects and depending on your knowledge thus far, the editor will be providing you with all the tips and tricks you would like to learn. Whether this will be focused on basic editing or more advanced techniques, it’s all up to you!
Even if you’re a complete beginner, you will be tackling the art of creating AMVs together! The only thing the editors need to know from you is which anime and song you would like to use during your session and whom you would like to learn from!
Then it’s up to AMV Netherlands’ editors to collect the files and make sure their hardware is ready when you enter the room! After your session they will be sending your AMV and the project file to you. You will also be given the option to get in contact with the Dutch editors through the AMV Netherlands Discord.

Drawing Room – 2Draw
2Draw will be hosting a drawing room where you can sit back and draw manga, comics and anything else you fancy. Their enthusiastic artists will answer your burning questions regarding drawing or writing. 2Draw will also offer workshops that focus on specific drawing and writing subjects, such as character design, faces, body, and writing.
Geek Art Workshop – SeaPanda Mako
Get creative and make your own pixel art with perler beads! SeaPanda Mako will host this workshop and will answer any questions you may have. All your creations will be ironed for you to take home.
How to Wear a Yukata – Hennie Saito, The Sushi Times
Have you always wondered how to wear a yukata? You find it complicated or are in need of tips to polish your folding skills? Here is your chance! The Sushi Times’ writer Hennie Saito will teach you how to wear this magnificent summer kimono in this lecture. You can also bring your own yukata and fold along.
Iai: Samurai Workshop – Jeffrey of The Samurai Workshop
Knowing how to use a Japanese sword is a life-long journey of training and study. Take your first baby samurai steps in this Iai 101 class on how to draw, use, and resheath a Japanese sword.
This training will be done with a bokken (wooden training sword) and a saya (sheath) which are available on a first-come-first-serve basis at the workshop.
LED Animations – CustomFX
Have you always wanted to know how to control LED’s using an Arduino microcontroller? Come join CustomFX’s introduction workshop LED programming. You don’t have to be a programmer or even have any programming skills whatsoever to participate.
At this 1-hour workshop they will show you how easy it is to create LED animations using the CustomFX library. The CustomFX library is specifically developed in order to make programming with the Arduino very simple. They will demonstrate this with a number of examples and exercises.
At the beginning of the workshop you’ll receive a starter kit with all the necessary components for the workshop. The starter kit contains an Arduino, several LED’s, buttons and a LED strip. After completing this workshop you’ll have enough knowledge to start creating your own LED animations.

Maneki Neko Workshop – Sandra
Maneki Neko is the beckoning cat figurine displayed at the entrance of businesses in Japan. In this workshop you will use your creativity to make your own Maneki Neko sculpture with clay. After the workshop they will be baked and will be available for pick-up at the info desk.
Needle Felting – Oranda no Panda
Needle felting is a new and popular trend in the Japanese craft scene. Three-dimensional objects are sculpted with the use of a felting needle and unspun wool. Join Oranda no Panda’s walk-in workshop to make a needle-felt plushie of your own!
Papercraft Workshop – Melissa
Another Abunai! edition, another papercraft workshop! This year there will be new papercraft models to choose from for crafters of all experience levels. Starting crafter and experienced crafters, come grab some scissors and glue and let your imagination run loose!
Parapara Workshop – Super Golden Events
Parapara is a dance style that originated in Japanese nightclubs. In this workshop you will be taught the basics of this easy dance style and a few routines. Make sure to join this workshop if you feel like dancing!
Veggie Gyoza Workshop – Noriko Aoki (Tokyo Doll)
As you might know, ramen and gyoza are Japanese dishes that are currently big and booming in the world. However, gyoza originally came from China, after which it was adapted to the Japanese style. At this workshop you can enjoy making vegetarian gyoza. As this is a food workshop, please wash your hands beforehand!
