The Cosplay Fashion Show has been changed to the Masquerade.
For information about signing up to this event, please refer to our Facebook page and the The Front Page of our website. Announcements for the sign-ups to all events will be done in a timely manner and will also provide you with the necessary information for signing up for the event.
It’s possible there are some events for which you may need to pay an additional fee; if this is the case, it will be included in the event description.
No, this isn’t possible, even though there may be songs in the database of Soramimi Karaoke that aren’t connected to the Japanese (pop) culture.
As it is we can not yet give an estimate to when this will be. When we have information available, we will add this to the website.
We hope to have the final schedule on the website two weeks prior to the convention.
Most of our events do not have sign up to participate. We work on a first come, first serve basis. Once all places are taken you can no longer participate. In the past we have experienced that for some events this is really something you need to take into account, as some of them were filled up quite fast. Unfortunatly we do not have larger rooms available and can therefore not provide for more participants per event.
Yes, there are some, though most of them are not. Events you will need to sign up for in advance will have a ‘Sign up required’ notation on the website and in our conbook. The manner on how to sign up will be provided this way as well.

Gopher Questions (9)
A gopher is a volunteer who helps out setting up, running and breaking down the convention by performing a wide variety of tasks. These tasks completely depend on what needs to be done at the time. They also help out visitors with questions or issues. They are expected to do so in a friendly manner at all times. We’ll also ask our gophers to help out before and after the convention when able. The more hands we have, the faster we can work.
Being a gopher is about team work and trying to bring out the best in yourself. You’ll work in a team, with all kinds of different people. If this seems like fun, why don’t you sign up as a gopher and see the convention from a very different perspective? You might not know this, but a lot of Staff started out as gophers. Give it a try!
We are sorry to say that there is no guarantee in this matter. The first step after you registered as a gopher is filling in the gopher form that will be provided to you by our gopher manager. Based on the information provided by the submitted form it we will decide if you are qualified to be a gopher or not. Because there is a limit on the amount of gophers we need on the convention and we have certain requirements we are unable to accept all applications. We hope you can understand our decision in these matters.
After you have registered yourself as a gopher you will receive an e-mail from our gopher manager. Attached to this mail is the gopher form. We expect you to completely and truthfully fill out the form before returning it to the gopher manager. By assessing all the submitted forms, the gopher manager will then determine who will be accepted as a gopher and who will not. After this you will receive an e-mail from the manager if you are approved or not. If you haven’t handed in your gopher form on time, your application won’t be processed and will be rejected by default.
The minimum age for helping out as a gopher is 16 years. This requirement is set because of legal reasons and non-negotiable.
Yes, you will have to register and pay beforehand. We chose this approach to prevent people from neglecting their tasks.
Furthermore, breaking the rules as stated in the gopher manual or any other misconduct means we have the right to reject the refund you would normally receive after the convention is over. Don’t worry though, this rarely happens. What is most important to us is that you enjoy your time as a gopher and give it the best you can.
There’s one Gopher meeting; it’s on the Friday morning before the first shifts at Abunai!con start. We’ll inform you of the time and place at least a week in advance.
It’s okay if you can’t make to the gopher meeting, bu you will have to read the gopher manual very thoroughly. It has all the important information that you need to know as a gopher. If you have any questions, you can always mail the gopher management: Please use this form for contacting them.
Basically, gophers have the same choices as visitors have. You can find them on the accommodations page.

The check in time at the hotel has not been announced yet (last year was 15:00).
No, all the parking spaces are free and there is plenty of parking space available at convention grounds.
You are not allowed to bring your own food/drinks from home to the NH Koningshof. The hotel does not allow this. Exceptions can be made for medical reasons, but permission has to be requested before coming to the convention using our Contact Form. Please clearly state why you have to bring food, what kind of food you need to bring and how you plan to keep it with you. For larger bags you might think about requesting a bag Permit as well.
Registration Questions (13)
Yes, you will, but reservations will be processed by NH Koningshof. They will process all hotel reservations in the order by which they are received; during this process they will contact you to confirm your order, or provide you with an alternative if the room type you requested is no longer available.
Actually, you can do that yourself! First you should log in on the registration page, go to ‘Registrations’, select Abunai! 20XX and click ‘Next’. After that, select the order you want to change (probably the one with your name, which is already selected) and click ‘Next’. In the following screen, select or deselect the options you want to change. Confirm the order by pressing ‘Next’ once again.
Now you have a new order. If it is a positive order, you will have to pay that order within the default time period. If it is a negative order and there are no other orders pending, we will refund the amount. We always try to process your refund within the next 10 work days. If you haven’t paid the original order yet, you can also select both orders and choose ‘merge’, merging both orders into one, leaving you with a single order you have to pay.
When changing registrations you have not paid yet, please keep in mind that the period in which you have to pay your ticket will remain based on the earliest registration. Changing your registration will NOT change the deadline for your payment.
You can check the status of the order at our registration page. After logging in, check the ‘Orders’ page. If the ‘Payment’ is equal to the ‘Amount’, then the order has been successfully processed. We always try to process your payment within the next 5-10 working days.
Unfortunately this is not possible unless you have a child with you or for medical reasons. If this is the case, please contact NH Koningshof directly to inquire about the additional costs and to request access to the ‘third bed’ option.
If you have booked a room at the NH Koningshof breakfast is included. The hotel does offer separate breakfasts on site. Please inform about this option at the hotel desk at the main entrance. Keep in mind that the breakfast is offered at the hotel of your stay.
You pay €19.00,- for a buffet diner. We also offer alternative options at our foodcourt.
There are no age restrictions, but visitors under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult with the minimum age of 18. It is possible however that there are some age-restricted events or areas at the convention site. The minimum age will be mentioned in the convention booklet for these events, and an age check will take place upon entering these events.

Abunai! payments are processed by hand about once a week. But occasionally it takes a little while longer. You can always login on to the registration page to check the status of your order. If it still says pending your payment has yet to be processed, even if the money has already been transferred to our bank account.
If the status has been changed to registered; then your payment has been received and your ticket should have been sent to you by e-mail. There is a link to resend your ticket if you choose to view your registration. Please be sure to check your spam box/junkmail because occasionally tickets get stuck there.
If after 14 days your payment still hasn’t been processed, or you keep having problems receiving your ticket, please contact through the e-mail form on the website.
When you log into the registration page you can look at all your current orders. Here you have the option of merging all your current orders into one order. the system will send you a new email with a payment code for the combined order. please use that payment code.
We will manually cancel orders that are not paid for after two weeks to free up available tickets for other visitors. We will send you a reminder after which you have at least a week to pay for your order. If your order status on our site still reads “pending” and you have not received a reminder yet, your order is still valid and there is no need to make a new one.
To cancel your tickets or any items on it, please follow these steps:

– Log in on the site
– Click on registration.
– Click on the edit button behind your name.
– On the next page, click on the items (days, dinner) you wish to cancel.
– Click on “continue to Step 2”.
– Click on “continue to confirmation”.
You refund will be completed within 10 working days. If you haven’t received a refund up till then, please send us a mail via this form. If you have any questions regarding payment, you can use this form as well.
Other Questions (2)
The exact opening hours will be announced in our convention booklet. Do keep in mind that the wardrobe will close at some point during the night, so you won’t be able to get to your bags during the night after the wardrobe is closed.
Please check the house rules. Not having any pockets does not mean you can take your bag or coat where others cannot. We advise you to sew some pockets into your cosplay if possible to prevent disappointments.
