Abunai wants YOU!

Then perhaps you could be the person we, the Abunai Foundation, are looking for to strengthen our devoted team of staff members!
We know every person has his / her own qualities, abilities, skills and/or knowledge which we could put to use to make the convention an even better place for you, and your fellow convention visitors!

Staff Categories:
Abunai Staff is separated within three categories, containing:
- Board
- Manager
- Staff
Each of these categories comes with different tasks and responsibilities. If you think you´re up for any staff position, please do not hesitate to send us an application through our contact form. Note that each application is handled individually, and if we think another job is more suitable for you, we will come back to you to discuss it.
Abunai over the years:
Abunai has grown a lot over the years, and is now the Anime convention with yearly the highest amount of visitors in the Netherlands.
For that reason, we adjusted the structure within our organization to keep matters more organized.
After growing our staff to over 15 members, we decided on the introduction of the field Managers. These managers get assigned to a certain field of specialization (i.e. Public Relations), where they delegate all tasks in their specialization towards the staff-members assigned under them.
Managers are also an essential part in hiring new staff-members, because they have the most insight on their field of specialization, and are able to tell if the applicant is compatible for the function, or not.
Requirements:
Teamwork is essential to every group of people, striving to the same goal.
The Abunai staff has a goal as well; "To run the best Abunai as smoothly as it ever could while giving our customers maximum pleasure".
In order to work together with us, you need:
- good communicative skills.
- experience with working in a team.
- to be able to cope with stressful situation, according to your level of responsibility.
- to be prepared to invest time into organizing the convention when needed. (some jobs are busier than others)
Benefits:
Because it´s a non-pay job, does not mean there aren´t any benefits, because there are! And they´re great!!!!!!

Explaining the categories:
Earlier we stated three categories, here we will try to explain them as specific as possible, but please keep in mind that each function has its own tasks and the information given below might vary according to your "possible" function.
the Board:
At the moment amount counts 5 board functions.
The Board are the master minds the convention. They are the people whoare the people who make Abunai possible and keep it running.
Treasurer is one of the functions, he's the person who is responsible for all things financial within Abunai!. From assigning a budget to getting bills payed, the treasurer keeps the balances checked.
Needed to apply: You will be contacted if they think you are a possible candidate.
Management:
Managers get assigned to a certain area of specialization by the Board.
They will have the task to communicate between the board and the regular staff, give their staff tasks and report back to the board. Responsibility for those tasks does firmly rest on their shoulders.
Currently available management functions:
- Extra Activities : Responsible for all activities outside of the convention. These activities are related to abunai but are not held at the convention itself.
Staff:
As a staff member, you are helping the convention throughout the year with arrangements pre-convention.
You will be working with a team in the field assigned to you, or which you applied for, under one Manager.
Depending on your job, your responsibilities will vary.
Without the staff, Abunai wouldn't be what it is today, so yes, staff members are very needed.
Some tasks staff members might encounter:
- Realizing the cloakroom, think about numbering system, best arrangement for the room.
- Realizing the sleeping accomodations, best arrangement, what rules are bound etc.
- Realizing the equipment, where can beamers/laptops be rented cheapest. Where do you store this knowledge etc.
- Finding new locations where Abunai might be held in the future. If you have a good idea, we're always open for it!
Current looking for:
- Events staff member: you're responsible for the realisation of events assigned to you.
- Desk Top Publisher: giving style and shape to communication products and the convention booklet will be your main responsibility
- Decoration staff member: you're responsible for decorating the convention site, stands etc.
- Activity staff member: we're looking for three staff members to help out in the newly founded "extra activity commission". You'll be responsible for realising events outside of Abunai.
