This weekend, from October 7th til October 9th, you can find us at Nishicon in Almelo. You can find our stand in the Amadeus Room section of the Dealer Room. Feel free to visit us if you have any questions about our convention or organization, if you’re interested in helping out Abunai! as a volunteer, or if you simply fancy a chat. We’ll also be hosting a competition at our stand, where you can win an all-weekend VIP Ticket for Abunai! 2017!
Some of you might still feel out of this world, but sadly Abunai! 2016: Beyond the Stars is over. We would like to thank everyone who assisted in the preparation and execution of our festival. We have no final numbers yet, but over 4800 unique visitors have visited Abunai! It was a hot weekend of course, but we hope everyone had a good time despite the heat.
We’ve received a lot of both positive and constructive feedback during and after the weekend. If you still have some feedback about this year’s convention, suggestions for improvement or new ideas you’d love to see, feel free to contact us at: email@example.com
Meanwhile we’re already making preparations for next year’s Abunai! which will once again be held at NH Koningshof from Friday August 25th till Sunday August 27th. The theme for 2017 will be all about Samurai, Geisha and the Bushidō, bringing you both martial arts and a trip through history. We hope to see you all again next year at our 15th edition: Abunai! 2017: History in the Making!
Abunai is almost here! Starting Thursday we will be busy building up and running the convention. This means that all our staff members will be on location and quite busy, therefore it will be difficult to answer e-mails or social media messages we receive in a timely manner. This will remain to be the case until Monday. We hope that you’ll understand this and we will be back on Tuesday to answer all your questions.
Also, starting Thursday, our online ticket registrations will be closed and the only option will be to buy a ticket at the convention at the door. Bear in mind though that Saturday tickets are completely sold out (both online and at the door!) and are no longer available. However we still have enough tickets for Friday and Sunday available.
Prepare for trouble! And make that double! Or rather: make that fivefold.
Pokémon Go Players who visit Abunai! this weekend will notice that the NH Koningshof venue holds no less than FIVE Pokéstops on site. In addition there is a Gym just outside the NH Koningshof entrance.
We have some good news regarding this situation, but also a word of warning…
We’re expecting a lot of visitors at Abunai! and the hallways are going to be quite crowded. So please be watchful of your surroundings at all times and pay attention to where you’re going, or where other people might be going.
Also: don’t be an obstacle. When you do spot a Pokémon, don’t stop in the middle of the hallway, but stay to the side and as much as the main corridors as possible as not to obstruct your fellow visitors. Stewards are in charge of crowd control and will keep an eye out as well, to keep the hallways from crowding up.
There are two Pokéstops at two very busy locations (the intersection between the yellow and blue zones which is always crowded, and at the entrance of the Food Court), however please try to avoid standing still here; instead take the stairs for example: you’ll find the same Pokéstop at the next floor as well.
Now for the good news:
Abunai! will be setting up lures at the Pokéstops in the inner gardens and near the Abdijbar at regular intervals. Make sure to check your app regularly, because we won’t be announcing at which times, although we’ll try to plan this as much when our Events Schedule is less crowded..
The weather forecast shows us that it is going to be extremely warm during the weekend of Abunai! It is possible that we will reach 30 degrees on Friday. Therefore we advise you to plan accordingly. Please make sure you have plenty of water with you. Items like a sun hat or cap might be a good idea to prevent getting a heat stroke while waiting in line before the convention opens.
As an additional measure NH Koningshof will arrange a water tap point outside where running water can be tapped. This will be free of charge. There will be some plastic cups, but try to bring your own (refillable) water bottle if possible.
This point will be located on the grass field outside the food court (approximately; the exact location will be determined on site).
Ladies and Gentlemen the hour of truth! I mean chat has finally arrived!
Wondering what this is all about?
Abunai! will now answer your questions LIVE on this chatbox : http://www.abunaicon.nl/
Got questions that need answers? Or are you just curious? join the fun and ask away!
Don’t be shy!
Two days ago our last tickets for August 27th were purchased, meaning that Saturday tickets are now sold out.
Just a quick heads up from out Cosplay Team regarding the Masquerade:
We’ve currently reached the maximum amount of contestants for this year’s edition. You can still apply of course, but any applications received from this moment on will be put on the waiting list.
