First Timer Survival GuideIs this your first abunai? Then check this list! This is all you need to make it through your first Abunai! | ||
So,you’re coming to our convention for the first time, but you don’t know what to bring and what to do… Well, your worries are over, because it’s the Abunai staff to the rescue! We’re gonna help you avoid all the pitfalls first timers have made in the past.
If you go camping:
A tent. Don’t skimp on buying a tent! During summer there are great offers at camping stores. Here you can pick up a high quality tent for a bargain price. You’ll thank us later ^~.
A sleeping bag. Make sure it’s nice and snug. Dutch autumns aren’t too warm.
A pillow.
An inflatable matras or a camping bed/stretcher.
You’ll only need the afore mentioned stuff if you are going to camp out on Abunai.
Personal Hygiene
It seems to be a time honoured tradition not to use the sanitary facilities that we offer on our convention. We’re willing to break with that tradition. It happened more than once that we wanted to turn the hose on an otaku. However, the fire department didn’t let us. We offer showers at the sports complex and all the hotel rooms have their own facilities. So for the love of our sense of smell… Use them!
What do you need:
Soap: shower gel, shampoo or an ordinary bar.
Towels and a wash cloth.
Toothbrush and toiletries.
Stuff for shaving
Feminine hygiene products.
Medicine (if you use any).
So, what else?
Now that we have sleeping accommodation in order, we can have some fun!
What more could you take to a convention:
Neko-ears, Prinny hats, whatever. Don’t have ‘em? No worries, we'll show you how to make them!
Extra bags. You’ll thank us later. Trust me…
Cosplay! You’ll have to cosplay at a con at least once. It’s a hoot!
Well, this basically wraps up our list of stuff you need to survive on our convention. But now we’ll hit you with some knowledge.
Read the house rules. Seriously. Many people don’t do that and get in trouble because of it. They’re boring, you can’t do this and you can’t do that type of rules, but they’re here to protect you and the people around you.
Take extra cash for food. There’s a wide variety of noodles, pocky and deep fried stuff. We also serve breakfast and dinner for those of you that included the option on registration.
Don’t mess with the posters please!
Okay, now you’re all set for your first Abunai convention. Don’t hesitate to drop your questions using our contact form, or join our forum and ask us there.
Enjoy and have fun!
